A native Texan, Ted Kovacev, M.D., FACS, grew up in Arlington, Texas and earned his bachelor's degree in Biology at The University of Texas at Arlington. He then completed his medical degree at St. George's University, and in 2011 Dr. Kovacev finished his general surgery training as Chief Resident in Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Kovacev is board certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He sees patients for the diagnosis and treatment of problems involving the abdomen, breast, gallbladder, and many other emergent conditions. His clinical interests include general and laparoscopic surgery, with an emphasis on surgical oncology, gallbladder surgery, and complex hernia repairs. He also performs colonoscopies, cancer screenings and surgery for cancers, including but not limited to breast, colon, small bowel, and skin lesions.
